Information About Cameron - Cheadle teacher

Personal Description:

My name is Cameron and I am member of the Hallé viola section. Prior to commencing this position in November 2017, I worked extensively with London Orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Philharmonia and the BBC Symphony. This work involved international touring, recording for film and TV and frequent concerts throughout London's major concert venues. I have also played as Principal Viola of the Bournemouth Symphony, Ulster Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, as well as Co-Principal with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Where I can, I continue working with these orchestras around my Hallé position.

Tutoring Experience:

I have enjoyed teaching privately and in schools for the past 10 years in both individual and group contexts. I have experience with students of all ages and standards: ranging from child to adult and beginner to advanced. I have also led workshops in schools in both England and Australia.

During the course of my performance studies at the Queensland Conservatorium I elected to study pedagogy which gave me a solid understanding of teaching principles and I now apply these to my teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I love teaching as I believe that anyone, irrespective of age and level, can learn and benefit in many ways! I believe it is very important to adapt my teaching approach to fit the learning style and goals of the individual student. I greatly enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities so I welcome enquiries from everyone. I believe that music is an integral part of a well-rounded education as it develops various skills which can be translated to other areas of learning and life, as well as being innately enriching in itself on a creative and intellectual level.
