Information About Caitlin - Manchester teacher

Personal Description:

My name is Caitlin and I am a 21 year old secondary school teacher and drum tutor. I first became passionate about drumming when I was just nine, where I began taking lessons at my local tuition centre. From here, I began my drumming journey and was hooked from my very first lesson. I wish to share this same passion with my students, and to be there with them during every step of their own drumming journey!

My interests outside of drumming include knitting and crocheting, skateboarding, kpop, and completing jigsaws!

Tutoring Experience:

I am a drum tutor with nearly 15 years experience on the kit. I have performed as a member of bands in a number of Manchester's most famous venues such as Night and Day Cafe, The Castle Hotel, Satan's Hollow, and even the O2 Ritz!

My experience as a performer, as well as my PGCE in Secondary Music with Specialist Instrumental Teaching from MMU and RNCM, has allowed me to develop my skills both as an instrumentalist and as a teacher.

I have a fully enhanced DBS check and have experienced working with children from the age of 5, teaching drum lessons and music in schools. I am a secondary school music teacher (currently also teaching PSHE) who is constantly working on developing the best teaching approaches possible, which put the pupil's learning and wellbeing at the forefront of every lesson.

Tutoring Approach:

Currently (due to COVID restrictions) I offer online drum lessons through Google Meets. My approach to teaching both online and in person is to ensure that the pupil and their learning is very much at the centre of all lessons. Through my somewhat casual yet informative approach to teaching, I am able to form great working relationships with my students.
