Personal Description:

My name is Daniel and I am a piano teacher, pianist and music school founder. My musical background is as diverse and varied as the lessons I offer with Jazz and Classical piano study being learned side to side for almost my entire life.

I studied both Undetgraduate and Postgraduate degrees at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under world class professors who played a huge part inspiring me into pursuing a career on music education and performance.

At present I divide my time between teaching in Cardiff and London where I also coordinate and manage a team of other tutors.

I am deeply passionate about providing the highest quality lessons as possible and ensure core aspects of learning (listening, reading, understanding, technique and repertoire) are being delivered creatively and progressively.

Tutoring Experience:

6-7 years as a private teacher. Other group and classroom experience during this time also.

All genres are covered including Classical, Jazz, Popular, Electric Keyboard, Composition, Theory and more!

Tutoring Approach:

The underpinning asset that I exploit in my teaching is versatility. My background, thorough knowledge of current publications for teaching, pedagogical techniques and networking allows for a huge creative resource for making lessons varied, fast paced, enjoyable and progressive. For example, improvisation may be used to learn a particular rhythm or scale. Or clapping/movement activities to experience a particular meter. This knowledge and experience is what I share in the mentor ship of my tutors in my music school.

These core aspects are what the teaching is based around:

- Listening
- Technique
- Knowledge
- Reading
- Repertoire

Most parts of a lesson can utllise all of the above. This is what provides a truly rounded learning experience.
