Brian Jordan offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
Hi, my name is Brian and I am a pianist, performer and composer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I studied music at Queen’s University Belfast with a focus on performance in the classical repertoire.
Since graduating with a 2:1, I have been teaching piano to people of all ages and abilities at QUB and privately for just over five years now.
My lessons typically follow the ABRSM/Trinity College grade system, but if students have no interest in classical music, they can focus their lessons on the style of music that they want to learn, and can even request songs/pieces to begin with. Whatever goal’s you have when studying, I am more than happy to accommodate and build a teaching module that is based on what you would like to achieve!
My lessons take place over Zoom, as I have a multi-camera set-up that allows my students to not only see myself when talking, but also the keys of my piano, so that I can clearly demonstrate the performance of a piece. Another camera is set at my PC, which allows students to see myself when speaking, as I use the music notation program Sibelius to write musical examples to help students read and write music.
All teaching materials are provided to students via Dropbox, these include:
Music theory books
Reference books (Theory & Scales)
In addition to these there is a folder with sheet music from various artist for students to use outside of their lessons. These pieces of music span a variety of genres from jazz, rock, pop, classical, video games, films etc and is updated frequently by myself when transcribing music. Students can also request music to be transcribed by myself for inclusion into the sheet music folder for everyone to use.
Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions, or if you’d like to arrange a lesson.
