Information About Benjamin - Dukinfield teacher
I began playing electric bass in local bands in mid 2004 and later went on to study at Salford University, graduating with 1st class honours in 2012 along with the Mortimer prize for performance. I then spent 4 years working as a bassist and musical director for Carnival Cruise Lines, travelling all over the world in the process. I relocated back to the UK in december of 2016 and have been living in Manchester working as a bassist, MD and tutor ever since. I have studied with some of the UK's finest tutors and musicians, including Scott Devine, Steve Lawson, Ollie Collins and Dr Robin Dewhurst. Artists I have shared the stage/worked with include The Manhattans, Louise Turner and the Manchester Camerata.
I have taught both bass guitar and music theory for over 6 years, with my students ranging from complete beginner to degree level.
My primary goal is to make learning music fun and to inspire my students! I work with my students to develop their own practice routines that will enable them to reach their personal goals within music. I cover a wide range of different musical styles and always base my teaching approach to accommodate what the student wishes to learn, while also addressing areas the students need to improve on. Areas of music i cover include technique, rhythm, harmony, improvisation, ear training and composition. I believe I can offer valuable experience, whether the student be a beginner or studying for their degree.
