Personal Description:

I am a highly motivated saxophonist with over fourteen years' experience. I perform classical and Jazz music and enjoy playing many different genres, on an extended range of saxophones but primarily I would teach soprano, alto, and tenor. I started playing at the age of 9, then went onto be trained at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music for four years achieving grade 8 on saxophone, and grade 5 on Piano as well as Theory.

I then went on to attain a BMus (Hons) Performance Degree on saxophone from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Whilst studying I performed in many ensembles including Repco Wind band, RWCMD Woodwind Orchestra, and I have also performed with numerous function bands across the UK and was a full-time member at a semi-professional big band.

Tutoring Experience:

I will teach all levels of ability, and I am happy to teach any style you wish to learn, from classical to jazz, as well as working towards ABRSM or other grade exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is very important that learning a musical instrument should be fun, I encourage students to listen to a wide range of music and find styles of music and musicians that they can aspire to.
I am happy to teach a wide range of musical styles and I can teach theory alongside practical learning so the student can gain a more rounded understanding of music.
Lessons may vary in length, from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the needs and ability of the student.
