Personal Description:

Since studying Jazz Guitar at the Royal Academy of Music, I have been a professional songwriter and multi instrumentalist with many different bands, and for the past eight years, have spent most of my time singing, writing songs and playing with my own band - Ten Fé. Through the release of two albums we have built up a significant following both here and abroad, have toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, and generated over 30 million streams on Spotify.

I also have fifteen years of experience as a session guitarist and have toured worldwide with career highlights including: headlining the Troubadour in Los Angeles, playing the Other Stage at Glastonbury, supporting Blur in Hyde Park, and playing on Jools Holland.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a highly experienced guitar and piano tutor and work with students of all ages and abilities ranging from beginner to professional level. As well as my own private students, I regularly teach guitar and piano at schools and performing arts colleges around London, and am currently Guitar tutor at the Latymer Music Centre. I love to teach and share my passion for music with my students, and seeing them develop their own relationship with playing and creating music.

Tutoring Approach:

With a Jazz background, I am able to teach in a variety of genres such as: Pop, Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk, Rock, Folk, and Country. It is my belief that everyone has their own connection with music and learning an instrument should be about deepening that, which is why our lessons will be completely tailored to your interests and goals. As a songwriter, I feel that learning and playing songs is a powerful way to understand your favourite music while also honing your skills as a player and all-round musician, so that with any given song, it can be used as a vehicle to:

- Learn different types of chords and chord progressions
- Work on rhythm and groove playing
- Improvise
- Work on a variety of right-hand techniques
- Sing and play at the same time
- Find your own melodies

From the outset we will discuss your musical goals, and I will tailor my lessons accordingly. Through learning and exploring your favourite music you will be inspired to practise and improve, while also building the skills necessary to get to where you want to be as a guitarist. Our lessons will be creative, fun and engaging. Feel free to contact me if you would like to book a lesson!
