Aya is a winner of the several competitions, including The Izuminomori Competition, and The Sapporo Junior Cello Competition. As a chamber musician, Aya has appeared in the Highlands and Casher Chamber Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia with her piano trio ( August 2004) Where she played with the well-known Norman Fisher. Other festivals include the Toyama Chamber Music Festival, Ishikawa Music Festival, Music Masters in Kazusa (all Japan) and internationally renowned Aspen Music Festival. Aya has also attended masterclasses with David Geringus, Jian Wang, The Tokyo String Quartet and Jennifer Gilbert.
Aya **Removed By Admin** is a native of Tokyo, Japan. She is currently on a full scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music following the MA (Performance) programme and studying with Professor David Strange. Aya received her BMus at Toho University in Tokyo, after which she attended the Eastman School of Music (New York) for one year. During her studies at Toho and the Eastman her teachers included Sumiko Kurata, Hakuro Mori, Clive Greensmith and Alan Harris.
In addition to chamber music, Aya has also been a member of the Tokyo Cello Ensemble since 2001, a highlight of which was performing in the Suntory Hall and Kioi Hall for their respective anniversaries. Aya was also selected from Toho University to play with Tsutsumi Tsuyoshi at these events. Aya is also an experienced orchestra player. She has been principal cellist of numerous orchestras in Japan. She has played with the NHK Symphony Orchestra for two years and has been invited back for future engagement.
I've been teaching for 10 years In Japan and now in the U.K. I teach any age at any lavel. I always try to make my lessons a fun experience for my students. I also teach chamber music, music theory both in English and Japanese.
Recently my students have all received distinction on their ABRSM exams.
I teach cello, piano and music theory.

Now teaches both children Cello and Piano.
