*OFFERING ONLINE SINGING LESSONS!* I am a Soprano from Greece who has been classically trained at a world-class Conservatoire, the Royal Northern College of Music (Bachelor’s degree), in the department of Vocal Studies & Opera. During my studies, I followed courses on Pedagogy and Vocal Health. Since moving to the UK, I have performed in recitals, masterclasses, competitions and participated in Opera Productions, including taking on the lead role ‘Serpina' from Pergolesi’s opera LA SERVA PADRONA for the RNCM 2019 Opera Scenes. In addition to being a classical singer, I have a love for Musical Theatre and attain an extensive background in this field, including performing in GODSPELL at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Moreover, I enjoy participating in multiple Stagecraft Workshop and have trained as an actress at ActUpNorth where I had the chance to work with industry professionals on in-depth acting methods. I believe that these skills of analysing a character offer important guidance concerning the process of attaching emotion to the performance of any piece (an Opera aria, Musical Theatre piece, or pop song) by uncovering the meaning of the lyrics and the thoughts the song expresses.
I am open to working on any of the student's favourite repertoire as well as songs from the ABRSM syllabus. I have the appropriate experience to prepare students for ABRSM examinations as well as for Conservatoire and University auditions. It is important to work on music that suits each pupil's particular voice type and brings their vocal training to the next level. I am happy to cover any of the following genres with my pupils: Opera, Operetta, Classical Song, Musical Theatre, and Pop.
In my lessons, I aim to create an encouraging environment and a safe space that allows experimentation of the voice in order to uncover the full potential of each pupil. My teaching method focuses on obtaining a healthy and robust vocal technique (supported breathing, correct vocal placement, alignment of the body and stance). Furthermore, understanding how to use text and phrasing in a manner that colours a melody with meaning and emotion is very important in enriching the interpretative skills and creativity of a singer. I am passionate about helping my students learn to perform with musicality, sincerity and confidence.
