Personal Description:

I have been a music teacher and a general primary teacher for many years in London and then Norfolk and have considerable experience in teaching and developing music in the primary school. In addition to this I have usually taught piano and flute privately and have entered many pupils for exams. Having recently retired form the classroom I am now concentrating on private music tuition.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated in London with a Music and Dance degree then a PGCE from Goldsmiths University and began classroom teaching in 1982 in North London. I began to teach private music pupils from that time and continued to teach piano and flute after I moved to Norfolk. I have also accompanied for many music exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I am not just a music teacher! My primary school experience over 38 years means that I can take a wide and varied approach depending on the pupil's learning style. I develop creativity and improvisation from the beginning and include many ways of understanding music. Above all my lessons are varied, positively challenging and fun and can lead to exams if you wish, or just playing music for its own enjoyment.
