Personal Description:

Annie has a first class music degree (specialising in euphonium performance) from the University of Leeds, and is now a professional brass tutor, teaching students of all abilities. She has played in professional productions of musicals and operas (including Oper Koeln) on both euphonium and trombone, and has particular experience with brass bands. She currently conducts Otley Brass Band as well as playing euphonium for Rothwell Temperance Band; Rothwell recently competed at the British Open in Birmingham Symphony Hall, and the National Finals in the Royal Albert Hall.

Tutoring Experience:

-Instrumental instructor for North Yorkshire Music Service, teaching both one-to-one and group sessions
-Tutoring individual students from complete beginner level
-Conducting several different bands, including Otley Brass Band and various ensembles in the Leeds University Music Society

Tutoring Approach:

Whether you're working toward an exam, or just playing for yourself, I believe that enjoyment is the most important part of music making, and so each lesson is fun as well as improving your playing. As everyone is an individual and approaches things differently, sessions are tailored to each student so you are always getting the most out of your lesson time.
