Personal Description:

I grew up in Denmark and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Upon graduation I was invited to study in the U.S. I ended up staying there for almost 4 years before returning to Europe and settling in London. I am active as a performer focusing on period instruments both with my own groups (Due Corde, The Akenside Players, Dei Gratia) and with established ensembles such as London Handel Players, Charivari Agreable, Brook Street Band, Ensemble Serse and The Amade Players.

Tutoring Experience:

At the moment I am teaching a number of private students in my home. The level of my present and past student represent everything from beginner to advanced (past grade 8) and ages 5 to 60-something.
During my studies in Denmark, U.S and England I have been fortunate to attend masterclasses with some great teachers and artists including Nikolaj Znaider, Prof. Milan Vitek, - and as a child I was fortunate to meet the late Mr Suzuki during international conferences. Their varied approaches inspire my teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my approach to meet the needs of each individual students. With young beginners I follow the Suzuki method. With older students I combine scales, etudes (Sevcik, Kreuzer, Mazas) with repertoire to perfect and enhance technique and musicality. I also help students prepare for Associated Board exams and encourage them to participate in competitions and performances whenever possible. Whenever possible I introduce my students to the historical context of the pieces they are playing.
Depending on what suits best for both parties I either travel to students or teach at my home in Kentish Town. Since March 2020 I have been offering lesson online via Zoom giving student further a field a chance to seek me out.
