I am a Danish classical mezzo soprano postgraduate from Royal Academy of Music in London.
After graduating with Distinction from the Royal Danish Conservatoire and sung professionally in Copenhagen for many years, I moved to the UK to continue my studies in 2017. Here I’ve learned even more about singing, music and performing.
I’ve appeared as Octavian and Carmen in RAM Opera Scenes, been a finalist in various competitions and received critical acclaim for performances with Hampstead Garden Opera.
One of my favourite disciplines within the classical repertoire is Oratorio, which I’ve sung recently as alto soloist in Bach’s St Matthew Passion with acclaimed conductor Trevor Pinnock. Other soloist performances include cantatas for the prestigious KOHN Foundation Bach Cantata series.
I also like singing songs in various languages: German, French, Italian, Scandi-wegian, English. You get to invest just as much in the text, music and characterisation in a single song as in an opera.
A part from signing I enjoy long walks in nature, house plants, cooking and books.
Alongside my performance career in UK and Denmark, I’ve been teaching singing more and more. During my studies in Copenhagen in 2017 I received a diploma with Distinction in vocal anatomy and pedagogy. I’ve taught at many levels both adults of all ages and teenagers, in groups and one-on-one sessions. I teach opera, classical, pop and musical theatre through a healthy, vocally safe and efficient technique.
I am constantly seeking to update my teaching practices by attending masterclasses and consultations with internationally acknowledged tutors and performers - e.g. professor Susan McCulloch, James Baillieu, Lucy Crowe and Caitlin Hulcup.
Singing makes you happy! I believe anyone can learn how to sing and every voice is as unique as the individual carrying it. I want to help you to find, nourish and develop your voice by practicing gentle vocal exercises and strengthening support- and breathing exercises.
My approach is focused yet calm and relaxed.
For some people singing can be intimidating if you’ve never learned how to, so what’s most important to me, is that you feel free to explore your voice without judgement from anyone.
Feel free to contact me for a one-off consultation to see if you’d like to study with me.
