Personal Description:

I have recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where I completed my Masters in Musical Theatre. I previously completed a music degree at the University of Southampton, and studied part time at the Junior Trinity College of Music in London where I studied classical singing with Sarah Vivien. I have Grade 8 qualifications in Piano, Viola and Singing. Throughout my training I have had numerous performing experiences in both classical and musical theatre settings, and am working currently as a free-lance actor and musician.

Tutoring Experience:

I have now been teaching piano and singing to individual students for about four years, as well as regularly working as a cover teacher at Stagecoach. I teach students from a wide range of ages and ability, and find the whole process immensely rewarding. I hope that my students do too!

During my time in Southampton I was actively involved in the University of Southampton Symphony Orchestra's project, 'Baby SUSO'. This project involved taking the orchestra into local primary schools and teaching the children about the instruments. The young pupils always really enjoyed the experience and it was a joy to be a part of.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in providing an enjoyable, interactive and practical approach for my students, and one which is catered to the individual. I will always try to assertain what the student wants to gain from the lessons and then plan my teaching accordingly. When teaching beginners, especially with piano, I always like to introduce solid foundations in Music Theory first in order to provide a thorough understanding of musicality and music reading.
