Information About Anna - Chesham teacher - (5 reviews)
I am a final year A-Level student at Dr Challoner's High School in Little Chalfont.
I started learning music at the age of 5 and have reached a high level, achieving both Grade 8 Distinction in oboe and Grade 7 Distinction in cello at the age of 14. I have also achieved an A* at Music GCSE, Grade 5 Distinction in Theory and Grade 7 Distinction in singing. My experience includes playing in the National Children's Orchestra for 4 years, the Chiltern Youth Chamber Orchestra for 6 years and the Buckinghamshire County Youth Orchestra for 2 years. I have also studied oboe and music theory at the Royal Junior Academy of Music.
I can teach Music Theory from complete beginner up to Grade 5 level.
I have taught oboe to prepare candidates for Grade 1 and 2 ABRSM exams. I have helped many candidates with music theory, piano, oboe, cello, guitar and singing on an informal basis.
I also have teaching experience in other areas: I tutor a Year 7, a Year 8 and a Year 11 in Maths and I have taught French to primary school children.
I recognise every student has a different range of abilities in music and cater for his/her past experience. Music theory lessons are vital for learning to understand, play and appreciate music, but they can also be fun!
