Information About Anna - Stockport teacher - (6 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Anna:
I gained a Bachelor of Music degree in harp from Victoria University New Zealand, followed by an MA in harp performance from the University of Wales, Cardiff. I also hold the Diploma LRSM in harp performance. I work as a freelance harpist all around the UK, playing for orchestral concerts, opera, ballet, weddings, and corporate events. I'm also a secondary school governor, and keep chickens as a reminder there is life outside music.
I have been teaching harp and music theory for 30 years. I teach all levels from young children who don't read music yet, to adults who had a few lessons decades ago and would like to start learning again in later life.
IMPORTANT : Due to the current Covid-19 situation, all lessons are held via Zoom, Jitsi or similar platform. There are no in-person lessons taking place this term. I have been using virtual lessons since March and they have been very successful for all ages as long as the student has a generally stable internet connection.
If a student has a strong interest in the harp, and is willing to work, then they are never too young or too old to learn the harp. It doesn't matter what level you start at, everyone can learn something and improve from week to week. I am patient with students (and as a parent myself have developed previously unknown reserves of patience!) and encouraging. I want all my students to look forward to their lessons, and to enjoy them, not to feel scared at the prospect of a music lesson.

Anna has a very thorough way of bringing you to heel, which she does in a helpful and encouraging way, suggesting better fingering and adherence to the beat!
Enjoying our fortnightly lesson over the air waves very much
