Personal Description:

A self-motivated and organised individual. Punctual, with good time management skills. Friendly and approachable. Experienced in relating to all levels and age groups. Believe that learning an instrument should be an enjoyable experience - whether the student wishes to pass grades or learn for pleasure.

Tutoring Experience:

20 years experience teaching both clarinet and saxophone. I have taught in schools and offer priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons to both children and adults. Experienced in teaching from complete beginner up to grade 8 (advanced)

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons are paced appropriate to the student. For first time music readers, there is tuition and support in the theory required to get started. Early lessons focus on developing the correct technique to play a wind instrument. Whilst I encourage students to work towards graded exams, there is no pressure to do so, if the student wants to learn purely for pleasure and relaxation. Lessons are one to one with a duration of 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

Due to the travel restrictions placed on us as a result of the Corona virus, I am now offering lessons online via Skype, Zoom or WhatsApp video call. This is working extremely well for my existing pupils. With so much time now spent at home, it's an excellent opportunity to learn a musical instrument. Retailers are still able to sell or hire instruments and deliver to your door. Online lessons also offer the benefit of no geographical restrictions. As this is the first ever that I have try learning a musical instrument it was important for me to choose the right teacher and I have no complaints at all about Ann and her style of teaching. She is very patient, gives clear instructions and makes the lessons interesting. I work shifts and so cannot stick to the same time of the same day each week but this was not an issue for Ann and she has been very accommodating of my needs. I definitely made the right choice and look forward to my next lesson each week.

From Yigit (5/5): Ann is teaching my 8 year old daughter to play the clarinet and I couldn't be more pleased with her methods. I would not hesitate in recommending her to others. We've only had 5-6 lessons but my daughter's progress, under the teaching of Ann, is fantastic. As long as my daughter wants to play the clarinet then Ann is the only teacher I'll take her to.
