Information About Andy - Newcastle teacher - (2 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Andy:
I am a graduate of Newcastle University's Folk & Traditional Music Degree where I achieved first class honours. I perform around the country regularly with various line ups in a variety of styles on both guitar and mandolin. My main interests are folk/traditional music, jazz, song accompaniment and solo acoustic guitar arrangement.
I am the acoustic guitar teacher at Central Newcastle High School. As well as having taught on a 1:1 basis I have taught for organisations such as the Sage Gateshead, the Scots Music Group, Halsway Manor Young Folk Musicians and Feis Fhoirt.
I am a professional acoustic guitar teacher and performer, currently offering private one-to-one lessons (all ages and abilities) from my house in the Fenham area of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Lessons are tailored specifically to the interests and aspirations of each pupil, covering anything from folk & traditional to jazz, popular, blues and more. Technique and theory topics are explained in a practical and straightforward way, with free handouts of my own teaching materials. I have recording facilities (protools) in my house, which is sometimes used for recording progress during lessons.
