This is how 2 referees rated Andy:
I have been a professional musician and tutor for 20 years and have taught a huge variety of abilities and styles. I teach and play all styles from Blues, jazz to Metal, Progressive Rock, Fusion and everything in between. Whether you want to learn musical theory and techniques like sweep picking/ legato or you just want to learn your favourite songs I can get you playing it.
All ages and abilities welcome and taught in the comfort of your own home. Incredibly competitive rates from a professional musician who has toured the world.
All aspects covered from Scales, Modes, Musical Theory to developing your stage sound, guitar maintenance and set ups. Rock school grades 1 to 8 can be covered (you must purchase your own books).
I have taught every style and ability over the past 20 years. I have done class room teaching but specialise in one-to-one tuition. I have taught basic songs to technical theory and musicianship.
Obviously, every lesson is tailored to the individual but as a rule I will start by getting you to play some of the songs that you love. In that song there will be chord progressions, scales, rhythms and melodies. So, without even realising it, you will be starting to learn theory and techniques. From there, it is how far down the rabbit hole you want to go in regards to learning more about theory, composition and technique. Whether it is the sublime solos of Stevie Ray Vaughan, your favourite Beatles song or huge Metallica riffs, I can get you playing them.
