Personal Description:

I have taught piano performance and keyboard skills at university level for many years and enjoy a career as a concert pianist, composer, and producer. I have taught students across all ages and abilities to become better pianists through a unique teaching approach from which I can boast a 100% pass rate in all ABRSM exams. I hold regular concerts for all of my students to play at, which helps to build their confidence, develop their focus and serves as an amazing preparation for exams. I have had over 1 million streams of my own music on Spotify and Apple Music.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching the piano privately since 1998, from beginner to grade 8 and diploma level, and have put countless students through graded exams, and coached pianists for recitals and TV performances. I also teach GCSE Music and A Level Music. I have taught at the Royal Academy of Music and was up until recently 'Head of keyboard' at Central Foundation Boys School in London.

Tutoring Approach:

I treat every pupil with individuality, to nuture and develop their musical talent. I work on the basis that every student I teach has an individual learning style, and I make my lessons fun, inspiring, and challenging. I use a range of teaching techniques and have studied the art of teaching in great depth. Talent is not enough, and I believe it is the responsibility of the teacher to assess and evalute each pupil on their own strengths and develop their skills, motivate them to practice and inspire confidence. The piano techniques that I teach can be traced back to Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, and for my advanced students I also teach the Russian and French schools of pianism. ***Currently I am only offering lesson for advanced students from Grade 5 and upwards. Please contact me to arrange a lesson today if you are of this standard or higher! ***
