Information About Amy - Brighton teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Amy:
My name is Amy, I live in the Queens Park area of Brighton with my partner and 18 month old son.
I have achieved grade 8 in Flute and Sax, and grade 7 in Piano. I studied music at Royal Holloway University of London.
Music has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I started to play the recorder aged 5 at school which was closely followed by Piano. I was very lucky to have a Piano at home and it was very rare that I wasn't paying it. At the age of 9 I started to play the flute and at 10 I picked up the Alto Saxophone. I now also play the Tenor Sax and the Soprano Sax.
Throughout the years I have been part of many big bands, orchestras and choirs.
I have taught various abilities on the Flute, Sax and Piano. As a student I followed the ABRSM syllabus, but when teaching I am happy to follow whatever route the student would like to go down. Grades are certainly not the be all and end all - I believe the most important thing is to enjoy playing your instrument.
My main aim is for people to enjoy the learning process as I feel this is the most productive way of learning. Lessons with myself are structured but in a relaxed and fun way and I always ensure to go at the pace of my students. I believe that music can bring so much joy and calmness to an individual and I love to see the progress people can make.
