Amelia offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
My name is Amelia, and I am a second year music student at Goldsmiths University. I have played the violin since the age of ten, and have had lots of orchestral, chamber, and solo experience, with orchestras such as the NYO, and the LSO String Academy. I also enjoy improvisation, jazz and music production, and am about grade 8 standard in piano!
During sixth form, I helped to teach the year 2 violin group, as well as providing practise help for a younger violinist, and teaching my next door neighbours' daughter. I also took part in many outreach programmes during my time with the NYO.
I am also able to teach music theory!
would focus on oral training, as well as improvisation, technique and most importantly, musicality. Ear training comes in very useful in situations such as orchestral playing, and improves overall musicianship.
I would like my pupils to feel that they get to have a say in their learning process - everyone's body works slightly differently, so there's more than one way to play the violin!
