This is how 2 referees rated Alice:
Originally from Guildford, I have been playing music all my life. I began the violin at the age of 5, learning under the Suzuki method. Not only did this teach me to really listen by performing from memory, but also gave me the chance to play in groups with other violinists. I then started the piano at 8.
From a young age, successes at local competitions in both instruments, as well as performing in the National Children's Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra, inspired me to pursue music as a profession.
After a year at the Royal College of Music I decided to pursue a more academic-based degree on the prestigious 'Joint Course' between both the University of Manchester and Royal Northern College of Music. Whilst a student there I was selected to play with the world-renowned Mahler Chamber Orchestra in Germany for a ten day residency with Daniel Harding. Also during my time in Manchester I really loved accompanying fellow students for their recitals.
I am now a first year postgraduate violin student at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
I am available for teaching either near Baker Street or Queen's Park ideally.
I have taught both violin and piano beginner level to grade 8.
I have also taught AS Level music.
I also have experience with children in non-musical/pastoral environments.
To inspire and get the most out of my pupils in a fun and productive way! Everyone can play music.
