Information About Alexander - Reading teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Alexander:
I am a First-Year Undergraduate student at King's College London reading French and Philosophy. I lead an active musical career in London where I have done over 10 concerts in my first year alone, including Orchestral and Chamber Music and paid gigs. Whilst Music is not my degree subject, it has always been an integral part of my life, including achieving Grade 8 Distinction age 12, being in the National Youth Orchestra 2015, leader of the Berkshire Youth Orchestra at age 15 and achieving my DipABRSM Distinction (equivalent to first year at university) during my A-Level Year. Equally, I intend to study a module in Music Performance in my Second Year, with teaching from a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and I hence I have an enormous amount of important musical experience.
I am looking to teach Violin at all levels. I will also be willing to teach chamber ensembles due to my experience in Chamber Music. Whilst I have not been an official teacher before, I regularly offer teaching to my siblings, and I have also been fortunate enough to learn a huge amount about teaching from various teachers / masterclasses since I was 8 years old.
I believe that the best approach to Music Tuition is one of constructive criticism, with the emphasis not on how much practice has or hasn't been done, but the best way to achieve effective solutions to musical issues, working specifically on musicality and technique. Whilst some may believe in hours upon hours of practice, I believe in efficient practice that can quickly achieve the required results.
