Personal Description:

I have played the violin in orchestras worldwide (often as leader). I participated in a volunteer programme called “Vínculos”, as a member of the Siero Chamber Orchestra (OCAS), playing didactic concerts and teaching violin in underprivileged communities in countries such as Nicaragua, Morocco, Greece, Ecuador, Bolivia and others. With this orchestra, I performed in several hospitals for children with cancer.

I was a member of the "Principality of Asturias" youth symphonic orchestra, and played concerts under leading conductors such as Maximiano Valdés, Yuri Nashuskin, Josep Vicent, Arturo Tamayo, Antonio Saiote, amongst others. I have toured extensively, including in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the United States, Portugal and China. I have participated in five CD recordings with different orchestras.

Tutoring Experience:

In my fourteen years of teaching experience, I have developed strategies and tools to motivate and bring out the best in my pupils. I have taught students of all ages (from three to sixty five years old). In my Master´s degree, I specialised in: the educational process and context, design and development of the curriculum, information and communication technologies, learning and personality development, and learning and teaching discipline, particularly at secondary school level. I taught over a four month period in a High School as assistant music teacher. During this period I was able to develop different approaches to teaching, involving the use of new technologies to make lessons more attractive to the students. These included creating a blog for the music class to widen their knowledge and extend their learning experience, and using video-games to teach rhythm and foster teamwork by playing music in a virtual band).

Tutoring Approach:

I always strive to make violin lessons fun, adapting closely to the level of the individual student.
