Although it says 'Ashton-Under-Lyne' above, I'm actually based in Gorton, approximately 1 mile from J24 of the M60. I've been a musician since 1978, and I have 25 years of teaching experience.
My primary instrument is piano, although I also play drums and cello, and dabble with guitar and sax. (I don't teach the other instruments). I've played professionally as a soloist and in bands since 1994.
I'm also into composing, recording, production and synthesis. I have a fully kitted out studio, including a 40-fader automated console and Roland TD30 electronic kit.
I offer one to one lessons at my home. I have beautiful brand new Kawai 6 foot grand piano which makes playing and learning a pleasure. For music technology I have a high spec studio, including a number of synths, electronic drums etc.
I started teaching keyboard and piano in 1993. In 2000 I began teaching Music Technology 'A' level. I have been an examiner for the 'A' level since 2006. My students have 100% pass rate for piano, music theory and 'A' level music technology.
Although I do teach reading from sheet music, and music theory, I'm especially interested in memory techniques to help you learn pieces quickly and perform confidently from memory. For the slightly more advance student I also introduce improvising and composing techniques.
I recommend for beginners that you may want to start with 30-40 minute lessons as an hour can be quite hard work at first!
