EGMF: A resounding success!

Visitors, exhibitors and artists gave the inaugural Edinburgh Guitar & Music Festival a “thumbs up” as sunny bank holiday weather and a huge programme of events enticed guitar enthusiasts to the city’s Corn Exchange. Officially opened by Edinburgh’s Lord Provost, the Festival took place from Saturday 25th- Monday 27th May, with an opening Party Night on the 24th, and featured a host of performances from both international artists and newcomers.

Alongside established musicians such as Sandi Thom, Jan Akkerman, John Etheridge and Donnie Munro, guitar professionals of the future (guitar tutees!) attracted a large audience during the finals of the Festival’s competition for young guitarists. Entries were received from all over the UK and Europe and the seven finalists in each age category (11-14 and 15-18) performed with amazing skill and maturity.

If you are organising a music concert, gig, recital or festival, we'd love to hear from you. We can give your event coverage and exposure in exchange for a link on your website!
