Pema's feedback about Mikhail (Advanced Violin tuition near Fareham)
First and foremost Mikhail is a professional musician who strives to give his precious time to students who want to learn. I have been learning with Mikhail for 4 months after 30 years of not having any formal lessons. He is a sucker for detail and will take things that have been taken for granted as easy to play by the student then pull them apart so that practice and results are better in the long run for performance. This style of teaching takes getting used to after time away but the lessons are always interesting and motivating towards practice. Mikhail listens well and is very adaptable. He has an excellent booking process so that lessons can fit around professional and family demands.
Fiona's feedback about Anna (Beginner Violin tuition near Stroud)
Fun, understanding, very encouraging, and teaches with clarity and direction. I’m a beginner & Anna is very engaging and a clear teacher . I am very pleased to have found her on First Tutors & would have no hesitation in recommending her.
Ian's feedback about Edmund (Beginner Violin tuition near Gillingham)
Ed is a super-friendly and patient violin teacher. Although I am coming to the violin as an adult from a background in piano and flute with the ability to read music, there is a lot I have already learnt from playing a string instrument in Ed's lessons. All my previous musical training has been face-to-face (in my youth!), and this is my first time taking music lessons online. This works reasonably well, as Ed is able to see my mistakes in technique quite well on camera. However, it can be sometimes difficult to see exactly what is happening on camera when Ed demonstrates a particular step/passage. Ed has been great at filling in the gaps in my knowledge and watching my playing carefully to offer very tailored advice. Each lesson is framed around the requirements of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. Although I do not plan to take these exams, this helps to give me a sense of the standard to which I am playing on my violin journey. I have no hesitation in recommending Ed to others considering the violin.
Nicola's feedback about Emily (Beginner Violin tuition near Leeds)
Emily is a fantastic teacher. She explains things brilliantly and my daughter lis progressing brilliantly after only a few weeks from being a complete beginner. Highly recommend
Stephen's feedback about Natasha (Beginner Violin tuition near Peterborough)
I've been working with Natasha for around 2 months now, having weekly lessons in the violin at a beginner level. In that time I've gone from having never picked up an instrument or knowing a crochet from a minim to being able to not just pick up the violin but also play several scales and am actively preparing for the initial exam. On the theory side I have a gist of the essentials and am slowly becoming able to sight read basic pieces. I can recommend Natasha as a tutor if starting out on the journey to playing the violin.
Jane's feedback about Emily (Beginner Violin tuition near Great Missenden)
Emily is very friendly and encouraging.
Stuart's feedback about Robert (Beginner Violin tuition near Gosport)
As a mature student, starting the violin very late in life, I find Robert to be patient and encouraging.
Clifford's feedback about Monika (Beginner Violin tuition near Beckenham)
Excellent tutor. Focus on posture, bow hold and left hand from the beginning. Good with adults learners
Kathryn's feedback about Fiona (Beginner Violin tuition near Shepton Mallet)
Fiona is a very patient and thorough teacher making sure that good habits are in place before moving on to the next stage. Lessons are taken at your pace and are fun and enjoyable. I have no hesitation in recommending Fiona especially for a senior adult beginner such as myself with limited musical knowledge.
Mark's feedback about Rosie (Beginner Violin tuition near Barton-upon-Humber)
I really enjoyed my first lesson and i have no experience with a violin but i think that rosie can help me get to where i want to be. The teaching way was easy to follow and i cant wait to move up with the lessons
