Personal Description:

Valerio is a session drummer, drum tutor and songwriter based in London, UK.
Born in Rome (Italy), Valerio started to play the drums at the early age of two, following his father's footsteps who was also a drummer. When he was five years old, he started his musical studies taking drums lessons privately. By attending various drum classes and workshops over the following years, Valerio deepened his passion for drums playing. He has also been involved in various musical bands/projects and collaborated with many different Italian artists such as Ghost, Annalisa Minetti, Tony Esposito, Claudia Arvati, Franky & Cantina Band, Marco Rinalduzzi and many more. Valerio graduated at Cinematography and **Contact Detail Removed**vision High School "Roberto Rossellini" in Rome specialising as Sound Engineer in 2016. That same year he moved to London to take his next step into the music industry.
Valerio is now a session drummer and student at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance University, (BMus - Drums) in London. He collaborates with various artists such as Herenwolf, Sully Gravity, Natalie Lindi as a session drummer/arranger and plays in different gigs around the London music scene. Valerio is open to be part of any type of musical projects/production as he loves and respects every music genre, particularly enjoying working in Musical Theatre productions and Jazz/Funk/Fusion musical projects.
He is also active as a private drums tutor in different areas of London.

Tutoring Experience:

I have gained experience in teaching drums over the last 4 years. Experimenting with my own method and students of different ages (from 6 to 30 years old), I have had the opportunity to build my own approach to the student and also constantly keep myself updated with new materials to explore for students. I do hold a DBS certificate (August 2018).

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching drums is something that I personally enjoy doing as I find the concept of transferring an art to another person, to be one of the best purposes I can use my time and experience for.
My personal method focuses on the concept of Musicality and is inspired by the traditional basis of drum techniques and fundamentals. However, I also go over the modern concept/role of playing drums as I believe it is important for a student to be aware of certain possibilities especially for those who aim to have a career in the music industry as a professional.
Specifically, when it comes to teaching children who have never played drums before, I particularly like the way they perceive the art of playing drums as a way to be creative and have fun at the same time, as well as learning, week by week, a way to express themselves through it.
