Tutoring Approach:

I am a fun, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher with 9 years experience. I always encourage my students to attain their personal best whether it be for a career in the arts or simply to engage in music as an extracurricular pastime.

I have gained an extensive experience teaching students of all ages and abilities either privately or at specialist schools and universities. My most recent position was piano professor to the undergraduate music majors at New York University. Within these appointments I have been responsible for teaching general musicianship, guiding students through the ABRSM grade exams, preparing students for competitions and public concerts, 11+ music aptitude test preparation, and helping students with practice techniques in order to see week to week progress.

I tailor my lessons to the individual as every student is unique and requires an individualised education to their needs, goals and learning processes. It is important to have a balance between what ‘should' be learned in any curriculum and what ‘should’ be learned to gain a rounded musical education. I have always prided myself on my ability to apportion my time accordingly to tick both boxes, which is something I consider to be key in maintaining interest and enjoyment alongside syllabus and technical progress.
