Personal Description:
I am a teacher of Flute, Bassoon, oboe, recorder and music theory with over 25 years experience of teaching both in schools and privately at my home.
I studied music at Trinity College of music in London and my qualifications include LTCL Flute and LTCL Bassoon. I am police checked and have Safeguarding children certificates.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught both in private and state schools as well as privately at home.
I have taught instruments in small groups as well as individually. I have also run various ensembles including orchestras, wind bands and a flute choir.
I am happy to teach theory to grade 5 or 6 standard.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy teaching young children through to adults.
Each student is an individual with very different aspirations. If students wish to take graded exams I am happy to work to these goals but always with the addition of suplimentary material to enhance their repertoire and musical experiences… I am also happy to teach a student who doesn't wish to take exams but is motivated to progress through a varied repertoire and regular practice.
