Information About Nathan - Poole teacher

Personal Description:

I'm Nathan, a passionate drummer and musician based in Broadstone, Dorset, providing drum tuition and music theory training services in a home-studio environment.

After seeing one of my best friends perform in a school assembly on the drum kit and being absolutely blown away by the sound the instrument made, I quickly found out who his tutor was (Danny Pearson) and started having lessons. Since then, after going on to reach the finals of the Young Drummer of The Year competition two years in a row, and then completing Grade 8 with distinction, I began giving lessons myself. At first my lessons were an informal side project, but after realising my passion for it, I wanted to teach full time.

Tutoring Experience:

I've been teaching for roughly 6 years now and have grown to love it more as time goes on. I have taught a wide range of people from different walks of life and all ages. I also teach drums at a local primary school so have a lot of experience with younger students.
In 2016 I traveled out to America to teach at a summer camp in Pennsylvania for about two months. This was a great experience that involved giving one to one tuition as well as group lessons to students between the ages of 8 and 15. We also provided mentorship and guidance to students that formed bands to play at the concerts in the camp.

Tutoring Approach:

I take an easy-going relaxed approach to music tuition, with the emphasis on bringing out the best qualities in the student. I'm always happy to answer any questions and aim to provide a comfortable environment for learning and progress to take place.
