Personal Description:

I am a violin teacher with almost 15 years of experience. My pupils are of all ages and abilities starting from 6 years old to 81 years old. I graduated with a B.Mus (Hons) degree in Violin Performance at the London College of Music, a Diploma in Music Production and also an MA in Ethnomusicology.

Having studied under Julia Clare Wilson and Susanne Stanzeleit, both of whom are reputed violinists and regular musicians at the BBC Proms and other professional orchestras in England like the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, I have gained a lot of useful skills and experience over the years in terms of playing various violin concertos and sonatas like the Prokofiev's G Minor Violin Concerto, Edouard Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole or Mozart's D Major Violin Concerto in different orchestras and teaching them accordingly to my pupils.
My students are based all over London like the Barbican, Baker Street, South Kensington, Finchley, Wembley, Bromley, Ealing, East Ham and Wimbledon.

Apart from being a busy violin teacher, I am also a successful music producer and have produced music and sound effects for movies, jingles and independent artists across the world as a ghost producer.

Tutoring Experience:

My approach towards teaching and violin playing has been greatly influenced by my mentor Julia Clare Wilson and to a certain extent Susanne Stanzeleit which was expressive and at the same time technically correct and accurate. I have a lot of experience with both one-to-one lessons and group lessons teaching the exam syllabuses of both ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall from Grades 1 to 8 and beyond. Many of my students have achieved Distinction and Merit in ABRSM and Trinity Exams and then went on to join some of the major youth orchestras like the National Youth Orchestra and also went on to study music including violin performance and composition in some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the United Kingdom.

Tutoring Approach:

I structure and tailor my lessons according to the individual's musical abilities, tastes, needs and goals. I am happy to teach violin who are keen to take the graded exams or to learn the instrument just for enjoyment and fun. Although I place a lot of emphasis on correct playing technique through tailor made technical exercises and scales, I also make sure that my students learn to play the violin with plenty of musicality and flair and ultimately grow to love the piece of music and the instrument itself. I also put importance on planning and preparation for all my lessons which leads to effective teaching and at the same time making the process enjoyable and exciting. Along with Western classical style, I also encourage my students to learn pieces of different other genres like pop and jazz if they want to learn something else other than Western classical violin.

Other than the teaching days, the only thing I expect from my students is to dedicate a certain period of time in a day in practising the scales or the pieces of music in the way I show them during the lesson. I also expect the parents of my younger students to encourage and supervise their child during practising playing the scales or the pieces or any specific exercise. I also recommend my students to have a Violin Handbook where I set weekly homework for my students.

If you have any questions in your mind, please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to help you out!
