Personal Description:

I'm a Brazilian teacher/tutor/musician/composer/arranger. I've been living in London since 1992 and I've been involved in many Brazilian Jazz projects (concerts and cds) including performances at the most known jazz clubs such as Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Soho, Jazz Cafe, Vortex, 606 etc and jazz festivals such as Brecon, Berlin, Barbados jazz festivals etc. Apart from that I've been teaching priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons to a number of pupils from 7/8 years old to adults. I teach theory, harmony or simply practise (repertoire) depending on the pupil's needs. I've run workshops at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Royal College of Music and taught for over 6 years at the Brookfield, Brecknock, Saint Peter & Paul, Vittoria and Eardley Primary Schoosl. I really like teaching kids.

Tutoring Experience:

Acoustic Guitar, Bass,Theory and Harmony.
I have been teaching for many years and a number of former students have become professional musicians.
During my lessons the students have full access to my range of educational materials. Lessons are flexible and tailored to individual needs. I have also assisted my students in rehearsals, arranging materials and performing with them in various formations.
Besides teaching the standard guitar/bass repertoire, my students benefit from my expertise in Brazilian rhythms and styles.

Tutoring Approach:

Music has to be fun, enjoyable. That's why I don't have a fixed course. Some pupils might want to play by heart (having a repertoire of their choice). Some others might go for theory/harmony/reading to apply to their discoveries. Some prefer mainly technique and some might want all the previous options. For the kids I find first what they like and from that I direct them to get curious about other musical matters. Sometimes I come up with other sort of play (not necessary involving music directly) … for example, asking them to imitate a bird, a dog, a lorry, the rain, a cow etc on the guitar. It really works because they relax and clean their minds to keep going with the lesson. I've been teaching kids for many years.
