Personal Description:

Hey there! I'm Lauren. I have 2 years professional teaching experience and I love to perform, compose and produce music. I teach in person and online via Zoom and my students have a 100% exam pass rate with a couple even achieving Distinctions too. All ages and abilities welcome. Look forward to hearing from you!

Tutoring Experience:

Since graduating I've taught freelance music theory and vocals for 2 years and performed with various companies - like the famed National Youth Choir of Scotland at the Royal Albert Hall and on stage at the Royal Opera House in London. While still studying I mentored many of my fellow students in vocal lessons and delivered many group lessons too which involved complex harmonies, transposition and conducting.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy an open and varied approach to teaching, exploring the student's potential through a range of styles and techniques to ensure a well-rounded musical education. While I specialise in Bel Canto, Classical and Musical Theatre I also offer opportunities to perform a range of other styles, such as popular, folk, jazz and rock styles. In addition to demonstrating and teaching, I also offer discussions with the student (or parent depending on age) around the type of repertoire and style the student is comfortable with or wants to pursue. Each and every person has a unique voice so this is a part I take much time over to ensure the student is getting the best from themselves and I.
