Personal Description:

Hello! I'm a passionate and experienced Canadian cellist based in York, offering personalised lessons for children and adults of all skill levels.

I have been playing the cello since I was three years old and hold a Master's in Music from the Royal Northern College of Music. I have extensive experience performing in Canada and the UK and teaching students of all ages. Whether you are a beginner looking to discover a new hobby, a parent seeking supportive lessons for your child, or a player wanting to prepare for ABRSM exams, I can help you achieve your musical goals!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching music for 15 years, and I pride myself on creating a positive and supportive learning environment. I have previously taught cello and early years musicianship lessons, as well as led chamber music and orchestral rehearsals for wonderful organisations including RNCM Young Strings, Opera North's In Harmony programme, and Sheffield Music Academy.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching philosophy is built around a flexible and student-focused approach. I am trained in teaching the Suzuki method, which is excellent for building strong foundational technique and developing a great musical ear from the very beginning. I combine these principles with traditional tuition (including sight-reading and theory) to provide a well-rounded music education, tailored to your unique learning style and needs. My goal is to ensure you not only learn effectively but also enjoy the process!

Lessons are taught from my home in York and range from 30 to 60 minutes.
