Personal Description:

I graduated with a BA (Hons) performance degree from The University of Southampton. Whilst studying for this I was a committed member of the Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta and Wind Band. I also performed with the Southampton Operatic Society as a member of the put orchestra. I went on to study my PGCE with a specialism in music. I currently teach in a primary school and oversee the music, including leading an infant and junior choir, recorder club and orchestra.

Tutoring Experience:

I teach flute in the evenings and at weekends. I am able to teach pupils from complete beginners or if you have had a break and would like to play again. I like to work towards completing the ABRSM performance certificates, however am also willing to teach pupils who do not wish to complete these.

Tutoring Approach:

In the lessons I incorporate musical styles the pupils enjoy as well as covering the main techniques of playing the flute. It is encouraging for both pupils and their families to put on small, informal family concerts at festive times of the year.
