Personal Description:

I began my BA Hons in Music in 2016 at the KM Music Conservatory, and completed my final year at Middlesex University in London. Over the last four years, I have strived to make the most of every opportunity to build a strong foundation in Western Classical music academically, and also as a vocalist. Attending masterclasses, and singing in choirs and ensembles have enabled me to uncover a real passion in being a performer. By 2020, I had received the award for ‘Best Performer’ three years in a row, and a graduated with a First Class Honours.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching summer courses for over two years including group theory sessions, and individual singing lessons. The aim was to introduce students to the classical music (including musical theatre and choral works) inspiring a love of singing. I also headed a choir while working with the Musical Theatre Ensemble, and taught students to read music and perform as a choir. The students are provided with a strong foundation in the technical aspects of singing enabling them to continue building their skills, and if desired, pursue a higher education in music.

Tutoring Approach:

I am offering lessons to any and all who are interested in fuelling their love for the art of singing regardless of age, or experience. Lessons will be tailored to the student’s interests and their expected learning outcome; and will be conducted based on the student’s experience and prior knowledge in the subject. In my experience as a teacher and practice as a student, I have found that since our instruments are within us, our learning experiences are highly subjective. Therefore, I let the student to take charge of the lessons and allow it to flow in the direction that they choose.
