Personal Description:

Hannah was born and grew up in Herefordshire and took up the violin at the age of three, learning with Barrie Moore of the CBSO before briefly attending the Yehudi Menuhin school in 2006. Hannah studied with renowned British violinist Rodney Friend for four years and then with with Mateja Marinkovic, based at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She now studies with Jim Clark of the RLPO.

She has taken part in international masterclasses in France and the Czech republic and with celebrated pedagogues including David Takeno, Gyorgy Pauk, Boris Kuschnir and Dong-Suk Kang.

Hannah has received musical awards from the English Speaking Union and for three consecutive years was the recipient of the prestigious Martin Musical Scholarship of the Philharmonia Orchestra. Hannah became a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction aged just fourteen. Hannah read music at the University of Cambridge where she received both musical and academic awards and was a student on the Music Faculty’s CAM-RAM scheme for outstanding performers. In 2013, she founded the Fitzwilliam Oratorio Project, the only large-scale choral-orchestral outreach project of its type in Cambridge.

Hannah gave her first public solo recital in Birmingham Cathedral aged nine, and performing professionally as a soloist since the age of eleven, she has given recitals for the Three Choirs Festival, the Elgar Society, the National Trust, soloist with the National Schools’ Symphony Orchestra aged twelve, and as part of the Ross Live! Festival. In addition, Hannah has frequently been guest artist with notable choral societies and choirs, and has given charitable concerts in aid of Macmillan and the Little Princess trust (its first fundraising concert) amongst numerous other causes. Past performances have included Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor, The Lark Ascending (with NSSO), Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 and Bach’s Violin Concerto in E major (with the Musical and Amicable Society Orchestra and Solihull Symphony Orchestra), The Lark Ascending (Cheltenham Sinfonia, The Delphini Orchestra) and more. Hannah has worked with notable pianists including Dmitri Vorobiev, Rohan de Silva and Martin Jacoby.

Hannah has a keen interest in the music of Elgar and Vaughan-Williams, and is frequently asked to perform their music for violin. In 2013 she gave a revival performance of the little-known Violin Sonata by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor as part of the Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester.

Hannah also teaches in Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Her violin is by Harris and Sheldon
