Personal Description:

I am an electric guitar player based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. I finished my degree in music in 2011, graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first. Currently, I am studying for a PhD in electric guitar performance. I have played in bands for around eight years, performing various styles including blues, jazz, rock, punk rock, and heavy metal.

2 years experience teaching the electric and acoustic guitar.

Tutoring Approach:

It is my belief that the best guitar teachers are flexible, and make accommodating the needs and wishes of their students a priority. There are many reasons why people learn to the play the guitar, and it should be a thoroughly enjoyable, fulfilling process. With this in mind, I strive to provide exciting lessons personalised to individuals of any age or ability.
Depending on your wishes, lessons could include any number of the following:

- Chords and scales
- Learning songs and solos
- Intermediate and advanced playing techniques
- Composition and improvisation
- Music theory
- Preparation for recitals
- Rockschool grade exams (1-8)

I can cover a wide range of styles with students, including rock, pop, metal, jazz, blues, folk and country. Lessons take place at a professional practice space, just off West Street in Sheffield City Centre. I can provide an amplifier if this is required.

1 hour: £20
30 minutes: £10
