Personal Description:
Aged 24, David graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007 with a performance degree specialising in the Tuba. Whilst at music college David was involved in a number of ensembles across the Midlands including the City of Birmimgham Symphony Orchestra, and The Royal Shakespeare Company. After leaving the Conservatoire Dave moved North to North Yorkshire where he divides his time between freelancing and teaching across the North of England and beyond.
Tutoring Experience:
Currently a peripatetic teacher working for the North Yorkshire Schools Music Service 3 days a week with a busy private teaching practice on top of this. David often presents workshops in schools around the country related to both GCSE and A-level music, as well as musical participation workshops to younger age groups.
Tutoring Approach:
I favour the friendly approach! We were all young, and scared about meeting our first teacher so I try and make the students feel as at ease as possible. My theory is that music should be fun first and foremost. I'm lucky to do what I love as a career and so I'm keen to pass on my enthusiasm and passion for music to others
