Personal Description:

As a player Colin has spent his life developing his skills in every area of the instrument, from playing in original alt-rock bands, professional covers bands, and completing a 4 year honours degree in the Classical instrument at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire of Music.

Tutoring Experience:

Colin is a very experienced and professionally qualified guitarist. Stylistically he can cover anything from the traditional classical instrument through jazz and pop to blues, rock and metal. His own playing experience ranges from local performances to open-air festivals, solo recitals and musicals.

In the wake of the COVID 19 outbreak Colin has been tutoring online now since March 2020.

Tutoring Approach:

Colin's approach varies greatly depending on what the student requires. Though a common thread that runs through just about all of his teaching is ensuring the student has a theoretical understanding of what they are trying to apply practically. This eventually enables the student to keep evolving as a player without requiring a constant stream of outside input, therefore encouraging musical individuality.
