Personal Description:

Claire specialises in playing for opera singers. She is currently the junior fellow in piano accompaniment at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is experienced in music ranging from classical, to musical theatre, to pop in both singing and piano. Her qualifications include BMus(Hons) 2:1 & Postgraduate Certificate with Merit from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Piano, MPerf with Distinction from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Piano Accompaniment, grade 8 in piano (with distinction), classical singing (with merit), popular vocals, grade 5 theory (with merit) and grade 5 LAMDA. She trained in acting at Junior Guildhall Drama, National Youth Theatre and National Youth Music Theatre, which is a huge aid for singing lessons. She is furthermore available to vocal coach singers in German, French and Italian, in Art Song, opera and musical theatre repertoire.

Tutoring Experience:

Claire is an experienced piano/singing/music theory teacher, who runs a private studio practice based in Upminster. It comes complete with a waiting room for parents/guardians, upright acoustic piano, double manual harpsichord (excellent for interpretation of Baroque music at the piano for exams) and full length mirror for singers. She has taught privately for over ten years and currently teaches second study piano students at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has a 100 percent pass rate for ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall examinations and can teach anyone from complete beginner to conservatoire level. She can also supplement other instrumental lessons you or your children might be taking, with ABRSM theory lessons (all ABRSM exams require grade 5 theory to progress to grade 6) and ABRSM Aural from grades 1 - 8.
