Personal Description:

I am a Tin whistle, Low Whistle, Uilleann piper, and multi-instrumentalist from West Yorkshire with a long history of playing traditional music. I graduated from Newcastle University's 'Folk and Traditional music' degree with First Class Honours and have won several medals in the Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil. I have been teaching for many years and have over 6 years of performance experience, with a detailed knowledge of traditional and contemporary repertoire from England, Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia, and Brittany. I am currently working with several ensembles, notable the Ango-Scandinavian group Vesterveg (**Web Address Removed**) and the English/Breton group Hearken Quartet.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching1:1 freelance lessons for several years with experience focusing on small workshops and community teaching; I have taught for the Arts Live Folk Group in East Leeds and Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eirreann Leeds, as well as smaller workshops at the Sage Gateshead's Folkworks summer schools.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style focuses on building a series of lessons from the ground up according to the experience and ability of each student, always at the pace of the student. Each student will be able to choose the types of repertoire they wish to learn, with each new piece of repertoire introducing new techniques or ideas.
