Personal Description:

Music is my passion. Having been a primary school teacher for 16 years, I have finally made the decision to just do what I love - music. I am a member of a showchoir and love to perform with them. Previously I have played in a Philharmonic Orchestra and Wind band arrangements. I believe there is no better feeling than that created when fully immersed in music. I am always developing myself as a musician and currently have singing lessons - so I still remember how it feels to be the student too!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a primary teacher for 16 years in which I have taught music from the national curriculum to various age groups. Through my work in school I have also taught music in after school clubs including choir, wind band and the recorder. I am also a personal 1:1 tutor teaching English and maths. I believe I have a good rapour with children of all ages and equally enjoy working with adults.

Tutoring Approach:

Fun, firm and fair.
Playing and performing music should be an enjoyable experience for all. To enable this we must have a certain amount of discipline and dedication to practising. This is something I reinforce on all students whether learning just for fun or towards graded exams.
I am able to offer practical lessons and music theory lessons both in the music room at my house.
