Personal Description:

I have enjoyed music from a young age, studying Piano, Violin and Oboe while at school. I continued my studies of Oboe and Cor Anglais at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where I also studied traditional Scottish Fiddle. I then moved to London to study a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music in oboe and cor anglais, studying with Olivier Stankiewicz, Fabian Thouand, John Anderson and Christine Pendrill. I moved to Cardiff in 2020 to study MMus in Orchestral Performance, and through this have been fortunate to work with WNO and BBC NOW

I am an enthusiastic, but patient teacher aiming to bring enjoyment and confidence to students of all ages through music.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor each lesson to the individual pupil, as I understand how important having the right teacher can be for a pupils musical development and enjoyment. Lessons will focus on developing instrumental skills, musical awareness, and music literacy and theory skills at a rate suitable to each student. Setting Goals in the form of performances or examinations is encouraged. Emphasis is on finding enjoyment in making music.
