Information About Anastasia - Lambeth teacher

Personal Description:

My experience of teaching and performance has led me to discover a way of inspiring appreciation and discipline within music within any student. I encourages relaxed discipline, supporting students towards feeling confident and comfortable with their abilities, while striving for development.

I am currently finishing a masters degree in advanced violin performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama situated in London, studying with Stephanie Gonley after having achieved a First-class honours in my bachelor degree of performance of classical violin. I came to England at the age of 12 after spending 8 years studying the violin in St. Petersburg, Russia with multiple teachers and schools including the St. Petersburg Conservatoire. Together with study of solo violin, I have vast experience of chamber music and am currently professionally working with the Elvira Trio, which I founded together with the other members.

As well as mastering advanced techniques of violin playing and performance, I have an open minded approach to creativity; regularly working together with various contemporary artists and art forms including dance, film and recording. I have experience in songwriting and producing as a solo artist, and in collaboration with other musicians.

Tutoring Experience:

I am also an experienced violin tutor, having started teaching in December 2019 and continuing through to the present moment. I always have a number of regular weekly students whom I am lucky to be able to influence with my teaching, they are of a wide age range and ability. Overall, I am able to be a professional and inspiring teacher, and have been a recommended musician by many.

Tutoring Approach:

Having both adults and children in my class lead me to see the importance of a personalised approach of learning for every student. My experience of many violin teachers in various countries has shown me very distinct teaching styles, allowing me to mix and match and perfect an appropriate way of inspiring appreciation and discipline within music for each individual I teach; I encourage relaxed discipline, supporting my students towards feeling comfortable with their abilities and development.
