Personal Description:
Trombonist Alec **Removed By Admin** is a performer and teacher with a broad range of experiences.
Alec graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2018 where he studied with Amos Miller, Lindsay Shilling, Byron Fulcher and Emily White. Prior to this Alec studied for two years at the Junior Royal Academy of Music with David Whitson.
Alec has performed with orchestras across London, including the London Firebird Orchestra, Haydn Chamber Orchestra and the London Street Orchestra, working with musicians such as John Wilson, Bernard Haitink, Nicholas Collon and Mike Lovatt. In 2017, Alec won the Grimsdyke Award in the Ealing Festival Brass Solo Competition.
Alec is a keen performer on the sackbut- Renaissance trombone- and has performed with The Chapel Choir of Girton College from Cambridge University, the ensemble Vecchi Venti and as part of the Suffolk Villages Festival. In 2017, Alec attended Dartington International Summer School on sackbut as a scholar, studying with Emily White.
Tutoring Experience:
Alec has extensive experience in education through working for Ealing Music Service and as the Head of Brass at the International School of Moscow, and through delivering workshops with the Royal Opera House, Teenage Cancer Trust and BBC Proms.
Alec holds an enhanced DBS check.
Tutoring Approach:
Music is arguably the greatest human creation, and allowing students to explore music in all its diversity is my primary role as a teacher. Exploring music as a performer or listener takes perseverance, hard-work and patience; but the rewards are exciting and thrilling.
