Personal Description:

My name is Aidan. I have played guitar, bass guitar and saxophone since a young age. I studied Electronics with Music at University of Glasgow, Performance Industries at Academy of Music & Sound, and then went on to do a course in teaching music at Play Music Now. Playing music and helping others get the same fulfillment out of it as I do is what I live for.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching privately for a couple of years and was previously both a community teacher and a member of the teaching team at Glasgow Music Studios. I also underwent teacher training at Play Music Now, under the guidance of Andrew McLaughlan. I also hold an up-to-date PVG Scheme Membership Statement.

My name is Aidan and I run Music Intuition - a guitar, bass guitar and music theory tuition service in Shawlands. As a tutor, I am dedicated to giving all of my students the means to express their inner creative potential. Everyone has the natural ability to play music, and I can prove it to you!
My lessons are fundamentally built on fun musical exercises and interactive learning methods. I will teach you how to:
- Play the all-time greats
- Play your instrument tastefully across multiple genres and styles
- Understand and apply music theory
- Read and internalise rhythm and notation
- Improvise freely.

All of the concepts I teach are presented in simple and intuitive ways. Gone are the unnecessary complications and academic hurdles!! Progress has never been so easy.
Research shows that the average teenager/adult can maintain good concentration levels for 45/50 minutes before losing focus. I previously taught hour-long lessons but have seen this loss of focus in action. Instead of letting this time go to waste I now teach 45 minu**Contact Detail Removed**ssons and send out a weekly email to my students. In this email you will receive:
- A brief progress report
- Backing tracks for any pieces we are working on
- Scale and chord charts
- Any other materials that will aid you in your learning

With this added support outside of lessons, I have found that my pupils understand the material much better and progress faster as a result.
I take on students aged 8+ at any and all levels of playing. I also hold an up-to-date PVG Scheme Membership Statement and an Advanced Safeguarding Children Certificate as shown in the photos. The first taster session is free of charge and regular lessons are £30 for 45 mins or £23 for 30 mins (what I recommend for children aged 10 and below).
