Personal Description:

I am a second year undergraduate in Biomedical Science at the University of Sussex, and during my spare time I tutor (mostly online) - both academic tuition as well as language tuition. I have 6 years of mentor experience in the French language, from as early as helping out my peers in French lessons during GCSEs. Along with this, I have 2 years of tutoring experience (both privately and for an online tuition agency), which I believe has prepared me to share my knowledge and passion of the French language with others.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working with an online tuition provider since July 2018 and have worked as a private tutor for more than a year, tutoring a variety of subjects of different levels. In addition, I also have up to 3 years of experience offering tuition to my peers during school years, and have been on both the tutor and tutee end so am familiar with effective approaches to use in order to better explain difficult or abstract concepts. As a very recent A-Level student, I have had first-hand experience with both the new rigorous GCSE and A-Level syllabuses. Moreover, my passion for the French language ranges beyond any syllabus and I'm willing to offer out-of-course tuition ranging from very basic grammar lessons extending all the way to detailed topic-specific sessions. I'm willing to focus entirely on the needs of the student, even if it means just having a casual chat to improve fluency.

Teaching Approach:

I believe in carefully structuring lessons in order to maximise information retention as well as finding out and highlighting the student's weaker areas through question answering, as I recognise that often a student may not be aware themselves of exactly where they are struggling. In addition, I also believe that every individual is very different and will encourage and advise students to use different learning techniques in order to best utilise their time.
